I was browsing around Partizan’s site after posting that Teenagers video, so I’ve been watching a bunch of really great videos and commercials all morning. This commercial for Honda by Antoine Bardou-Jacquet really stuck out to me though. Honda has been really hitting the nail on the head with their commercials lately, and this one is no exception. The art direction is totally stunning, the lighting around the choir slightly mimicking the shots of the car. Even the clothes that the choir are wearing, the women’s outfits in particular, are so well done and stylish.
Just watch it and you’ll get to see “what a Honda feels like”.
This video for The Teenagers, directed by Kinga Burza, is so beautiful and dreamy, even though the song itself is kinda’ raunchy and talks about getting down with your step-cousin or something. The song and video remind of something that Sofia Coppola would do, sort of like her short film, ‘Lick The Star’.
The Teenagers released the single for Homecoming a week ago on Merok Records. Also be sure to check out their really good remix Myspace!
About 150 zombies descended upon Union Square in San Francisco yesterday, attacking cable cars and Apple stores in an attempt to eat as much brains as possible.
When is LA gonna’ have one of these?! I’d soooooo be down.
Check out Declan McCullagh’s awesome pictures here.
Talk about an awesome job… David Rager seems to be the MOCA Los Angeles’ go to guy for everything advertising related for all of the big shows for the last, let’s say, 2 years? And with good reason too, the man has some really awesome designs under his belt.
Check out his great work!
This is a fun little video featuring the guys from Chromeo talking about their new album, Fancy Footwork. I seriously love the title track, Fancy Footwork, and I can see this being one of those awesome summer albums.
American supermarkets take notice! This is what a supermarket SHOULD look like! MPRIES is a family owned Austrian supermarket chain that employs up and coming architects to design the most amazing supermarkets I think I’ve ever seen. They use interesting materials, exciting and unique lighting, and each store has it’s own site specific design. Attention to detail is seen not only in the outside but the inside as well, giving customers an extremely comfortable environment to shop in. I want to go to Austria to check all of these out now! The closest thing we have to this in America would be Whole Foods.
Since MPRIES’ website is all in German, I’ve taken all of the cool pictures of nearly EVERY store they have to show everyone really how cool these stores are! You should be extremely jealous you don’t have one of these close to you!
Small and compact, and supposedly a great sound, these speakers designed by Neil Poulton are simple and beautiful. They look like they should be made by Muji.
Grab them over at A + R for $120 for the pair.
