Ezra Koenig (from Vampire Weekend) Covers Paul Simon’s ‘Papa Hobo’

Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend

The comparison between Vampire Weekend and Paul Simon has long been remarked upon, so it’s no surprise to see VW frontman Ezra Koenig doing a cover of Mr. Simon’s song Papa Hobo for the newly released film Ceremony. The soundtrack to the film was put together by Eric Johnson of the Fruit Bats, who if you haven’t heard you should definitely listen to them. The movie itself seems pretty good, which in a nutshell is about a young guy who crashes the wedding of the thirty-something woman he wants back. It stars Uma Thurman who’s been laying pretty low for the past few years. The song itself is a really nice cover, I’m in fact a lover not a hater of Vampire Weekend, so I’ll take it. If you’re interested you can snag the MP3 over on Pitchfork.
