This music video for Apache, a song by the band Danger Beach, is by far one of the best things I’ve seen in a very long time. I’m not sure I have this 100% correct, but the video was directed by Ned Wenlock, a New Zealand based director illustrator while the characters animation was by Rodney Selby. It’s the concept of this video though that really makes it work, this constantly rotating story that’s literally unfolding. You follow along a little Native American playing guitar, who is then joined by a buffalo, and finally by what I think is a yeto or abominable snowman. The whole thing is so beautiful to watch, I can’t imagine how you can’t enjoy this. If you’re curious to know how it’s done, check out this feature over on Motionographer, it gives you the tech-y details you’re looking for.
