You know what Erweiterung Gerichtsgebäude Sankt Pölten means, right? (Editors note: I’m actually sure many of you do know what means, haha…) Spreken the… uh… what language is that? It’s German for “Courthouse Expansion,” but the project isn’t in Germany, but der friendly neighbor Austria. At first, I thought the the top image was a rendering because the project seems much more saturated than the surrounding buildings, but it’s real. Have you ever seen a facade with this much shiny yellow happening? The expansion was designed by Christian Kronaus, who used the seemingly random windows to disguise the varying heights of the adjacent buildings. There’s been a bevy of these random, punched-out windows for the past half-decade or so and I’m wondering how much longer we’ll see them.
