The piece above by Ivan Venkov is called King’s Folly, a beautiful piece that I wish I understood. If you read over the description of the piece on Behance, well, it’s a bit too artsy for my taste. You could say there’s a lot of deep meaning in this piece, but I’m responding to it purely aesthetically.

I’m not sure what the piece is made of but the materials used are fantastic. It’s like a contemporary take on some old, meticulous Russian sculpture. The matte black with the shining gold has a fantastic contrast, and the subtle details in the end piece are really astonishing. There’s also this weird sexual angle to it, there’s literally a butthole on the back, which is framed with gold. Overall the piece is something astounding. I’m curious though how large it is? I imagine it has to be a pretty good size, probably 4 feet high or so. I would love to see this in person, I’m sure it’s stunning. Be sure to click here to see more photos.
