I came across this lovely fan-made poster the other day for the film Submarine, and I was really taken by it. It was created by “France-Lise” who runs a Tumblr called Sad Disco. What I love about this poster is how seamless the two images have been married. At first I didn’t even realize the female character was in there, the effect is that subtle and perfect. The type is also really smartly done, creating tiny blockades in which the images can trickle between, slowly fading into one another. There’s even a slight 3D effect on the image, which gives it a hint of unexpected color. Criterion needs to give this girl a job, ASAP.
