I'm a huge fan of the work of Bjørn Rune Lie, a Norwegian illustrator who now resides in Bristol. His work has this odd, semi-retro feeling to it, which may just be because of the color palette’s he chooses to work with. I think there’s a certain charm to his pieces, especially in the body shape of his characters, which are almost child-like in composition. But then you can see all the details and shading he puts into each of his pieces, so it seems like it’s a very conscious effort. It’s also nice to see hand-painted work, the grit and subtle details you can only get with a brush.
