Filmmaker Antony Crook has teamed up with James Bowthorpe, a modern day adventurer, to row a boat made of New York’s garbage down the Hudson River… all 315 miles of it.

“We see cities as something separate from the wilderness, but the former evolved from the latter. I’m interested in the idea of how we set up these diametrically opposed state of minds,” Bowthorpe explains. “The Hudson River Project plays to this cyclic idea, charting the path that helped to build the megalopolis.”

It’s a pretty rad idea, and from the video preview above it’s going to be beautiful as well. Adding to the fun is the fact tat Mogwai will be providing the soundtrack to the movie. I can’t think of anyone better to set the tone for such an interesting endeavor.
