Mexican design agency Anagrama has quickly become one of my favorite design agencies. Browsing through their work you can see how consistent they are in everything they do. One of my favorite branding projects they’ve done was for La Fábrica Del Taco, a Mexican restaurant in Argentina.
The visual communication had to be easily understood mainly because the culinary “taco” culture in Argentina is non existent. We took, as a result, the typical Mexican taco stand colors mixing them in such a way that when combined with the typographic and iconic elements it would communicate tradition and modernity. This was essential as the restaurant is located in the Palermo Soho zone in Buenos Aires.
Having such a strong Mexican culture here in L.A., it’s great to see such a contemporary take on the idea of Mexican culture. I love how the colors have become super saturated, almost tot he point of neon. And the feeling of hand painted signs in the logo and the taco graphics is just the right touch. I wish this was a restaurant here in Los Angeles, I’d eat there in a heartbeat.
