When I came across the high contrst photos of Nico Krijno I instantly began pouring through all of his work. Thankfully, he’s got a pretty amazing Tumblr filled with about a million images, so this wasn’t hard to do. Nico is a South African photographer who’s work is so bold and graphic, it’s almost surreal at times. The way he shoots his photos is kinda’ how I see life, which is probably why I like it so much. verything is so vibrant and colorful, but he distorts it to an absurd level.

He has a nice little interview with Dazed Digital, I liked this snippet a lot.

DD: What is the current thread that runs through your images?
Nico Krijno: Movement. There’s a thread of love and a sense of humour running through it, though it may sometimes seem cynical and dark. The photos I most enjoy are raw as well as magical, containing a certain dirty realism.
