Considering that we’re currently having an Icelandic-themed week on The Fox Is Black, I thought it would be poor-form to let it pass by without featuring some amazing photographs of the country’s incredible landscape. While searching around online I came across these fantastic images taken by Icelandic photographer Helga Laufey Guðmundsdóttir.
Shot in the southern section of Iceland’s highlands, the pictures are of Landmannalaugar, a popular location with both tourists and hikers. The region is located close to the volcano Hekla and it’s home to a number of unusual and beautiful geographical elements such its strange multicolored mountains and its large lava fields. Laufey Guðmundsdóttir’s photos capture these elements in all their glory and splendor, making me want to hop on a plane and head there as soon as possible.
