Carefully balanced still life photos by Raw Color

Eindhoven based designers Raw Color, made up of Daniera ter Haar & Christoph Brach, are the kind of designers I truly love. Their work isn’t rooted in one particular style of medium, it spans into photography, textiles, type, abstract art and so much more. I was browsing through their portfolio the other day where I came across this older project they worked on for Sight Unseen called Colour Stills.

Each of theses setups are delicate and perfectly arranged, each with a well-considered color palette. There’s also a bit of randomness to each one but they still work together quite seamlessly. There’s also a depth to each arrangement that might not be evident at first.

A series of still life’s that tries to capture the characteristics and associations of certain colour shades. For example, reddish is represented as tensed, explosive and dynamic, skin shades are shown by softness and purity.

I highly recommend checking out the rest of Raw Color’s work, there’s tons to pour through.
