I’m really digging these illustrations by Daniela Olejníková who’s one half of Studio Limb, along with her partner Damian Herb. What I love about her work is how handmade everything feels. There’s a lots of beautiful irregularities in her work that really gives it all a unique sense of character.
Olejníková sent in her work and I thought the way she explained how the pieces are made was quite great. Quite a complicated process, one that brings in so much more to her practice than you may have thought.
I have obtained my master degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, in the Department of Printmaking and Other Media, therefore most of my work is based on experience with traditional techniques as linocut and serigraphy. Strokes of stylus, brush or tablet pen, and colors layered and overprinted are my most significant methods of illustrating, same as simple shapes combined with patterns and textures.
