Hey there, sorry for the tardy Mixcast this week. I was having quite a bit of difficulty figuring out if this should be a Mixcast or a Mixtape, and in the end the Mixcast won. This started feeling a little too rushed and not quite complete enough for a Mixtape, but never fear, there will be a new Mixtape next week to make up for it.

This week’s Mixcast is inspired by SPACETIME, and such there are all kinds of space-y sounding and related songs on here. I think there are some really cool parts on this, some of these just mixed together really well and I enjoyed listening to it while I was cruising around on my bike this afternoon. I hope you enjoy it!

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
Navigate Colours by These New Puritans
International Space Station by Figurine
Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi
I Am Citizen Insane by Radiohead
Into The Galaxy by Midnight Juggernauts
23 Lies by Death in Vegas
You Must Wake by Broadcast
Space Walk by Lemon Jelly
The State We’re In by The Chemical Brothers
Reprise by Doves
Vein of Stars by Flaming Lips
Space Oddity by The Langley Schools Music Project

I’m somewhere in Chicago, most likely sleeping, but I wanted to be sure you had a Mixcast this week. This week’s theme revolves around duettes, or someone making a guest appearance on an album. I always think it’s fun when someone unexpected shows up on an album and performs with someone I enjoy, and these songs are perfect examples.

I wasn’t able to make a back cover for this week’s Mixcast, but I’ll definitely try and make one for next week, so don’t think I’m ignoring your pleas! I hope you enjoy the Mixcast and check back next week for more fun music.

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
To A Fault (featuring Grizzly Bear) by Dntel
El President (featuring Thom Yorke) by Drugstore
Summer Day (featuring Kirsten Dunst) by Coconut Records
Lay Lay Off, Faselam by Avey Tare & Kría Brekkan
Cliquot (featuring Final Fantasy) by Beirut
Over The Pond (featuring Jónsi Birgisson) by The Album Leaf
The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton (featuring Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers) by Beck
Old Panda Days (featuring Nick Krgovich) by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
The Build-Up (featuring Feist) by Kings of Convenience
How My Heart Behaves (featuring Eirik Glambek Bøe) by Feist

Yikes! It’s already early Friday night here on the west coast but as promised, here’s this weeks Mixcast. There’s really no theme this week, just a bunch of great songs. There’s kind of this chilled vibe going through everything, and strong drums are kind of another thing, so maybe you’ll see those elements.

There’s also quite a few new songs, in fact I think everything is really recent except for one song, so if you’re looking for new music, check this one out. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you guys liked!

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
The Sea Is A Good Place To Think About The Future by Los Campesinos
Leap Year by Port O’Brien
Feel It All Around by Washed Out
Crystalised by XX
Beach Point Pleasant by Ducktails
Hailey by The Wooden Birds
Watch The Waves by Taken By Trees
Island, IS by Volcano Choir
Love by Paul Simon
Bay of Pigs by Destroyer

Well it’s Friday already again, and this weeks Mixcast is centered around the theme of the moon. It’s actually going to be a full moon here in Los Angeles (and the greater West Coast area of North America) so I feel like it’s quite a fitting theme. The songs are all pretty recent, there’s no Pink Floyd on here or anything, just good ol’ modern rock… and Squarepusher.

My narration is a bit goofy this time, but I feel like I’m getting the hang of things more. I also say the word ‘compile’ at one point, but I say it like ‘com-pile’, like two separate words, and totally sound dorky. Anyhow, please enjoy the Mixcast and check back next Friday for a new one.

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
Almighty Moon by Sondre Lerche
Index Moon by Grand Archives
Waiting for the Moon to Rise by Belle & Sebastian
Half Moon by M. Ward
Duotone Moonbeam by Squarepusher
Moon Woman II by Elvis Perkins
On The Moon by A.A. Bondy
The Moon by The Microphones
Sail to the Moon by Radiohead
Moon River by Henry Mancini

It’s midnight here on the West Coast, so it should be Friday everywhere else in the world. This weeks Mixcast is a little different. I was walking to get a coffee the other night when I started listening to The Magnetic Fields’ Take Ecstasy With Me and started thinking about Neon Indian’s Should Have Done Acid With You at the same time. I also just finished Augesten Burough’s Dry, so all together I thought I’d make a mix about vices.

We all have vices and addictions, though some are more dangerous than others and some people hide them well, but I think it’s something we as humans are prone to having. So this is my interpretation of some of those things through some songs that I think are pretty rad

I hope you all enjoy it, let me know your thoughts!

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
Vice Rag by AA Bondy
Take Ecstasy With Me by The Magnetic Fields
I Went To Sleep by The Beach Boys
Should Have Taken Acid With You by Neon Indian
Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth by The Dandy Warhols
Handshake Drugs by Wilco
Heroin by The Velvet Underground
Hang Over by The Album Leaf
Coat Check Dream Song by Bright Eyes
Epitaph by Badly Drawn Boy
