World War Robot Armstrong Lunar Defence Figures

Gah! Look at how cool these new World War Robot toys/action figure thingies are! These are a part of Ashley Woods comic book series World War Robot, and honestly they look exactly like their comic book counterparts. I’m not sure what to call these exactly, because they’re kind of like giant action figures with moving parts, but they’re also sort of like models.

These guys come in at a whopping 14.8 inches tall, and come in two different colorways, Shadow Guard and Lunar Camo. I prefer the Lunar Camo, personally. You can pick one up yourself for the meaty price of $250 each by clicking here.

World War Robot / Bertie Figure

Yesterday, Ashley Wood put up some new photos of his upcoming Bertie figure, and they look so incredible! I think they’re going to be around 18″ tall with a ton of articulation, a bunch of weapons, and amazing paint jobs. There are also going to be two versions, Dirty Deeds (what you see above) and Desert Combat Bertie, with a special edition version to be released at the New York Comic Con.

The official release date has yet to be announced, only the general date of April 2008, but I definitely want to pick one of these up when they do come out!

MK12: The History of America

MK12: The History of America

“It’s about how America got born, with the cowboys and the astronauts and the whatnot.”

This looks like something that Ashley Wood would dream up. MK12, the folks who brought you the amazing infographics in ‘Stranger Than Fiction’, are now making a movie about ‘The History of America’, though it looks more like an all out battle in Las Vegas between cowboys and astronauts. I’m talking ax-wielding astronauts and satellites crashing into cowboys… mega weird. But it also looks really amazing at the same time.
Go check out the trailers and stills and make up your own mind about the project.

Zombies vs. Robots vs. Amazons

Zombies vs. Robots vs. Amazons

I totally love the fact that Ashley Wood just doesn’t give a shit about what anyone else is doing, he just keeps going his own crazy little way.

First he made Zombies vs. Robots, an epic adventure about robots trying to re-populate the earth with people again, after they’ve all been turned into flesh eating zombies! Sadly things go awry, and most of the zombies and robots (and last living human) are destroyed in a giant nuclear explosion… but one robot rises from the wreckage… and some of the zombies have started to wash up on Amazon Island! Dun-dun-dun!
