Leif Podhajsky

How crazy are these images by Leif Podhasjky? Taking what looks to be scans of mountains and water and all kinds of textures, he then layers, manipulates and reflects them, creating these absolutely trippy pieces. These above are from a series called Psychonaut, my favorite being that top image. It totally looks like that guy is some kind of inter-dimensional traveler and he’s about to voyage into some crazy shit.

Saison Beer

Simplicity done well is not always easy, but Zoran Konjarski of Melbourne, Australia nailed it on the head when he created these rebranded Saison beer bottles. Designed to look like pharmaceutical, the simple brown bottles mixed with the white neue helvetica bold make for quite a striking combo. If I was at a bar, these would definitely grab my attention.

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Craig Redman

Dour Darcel Wallpaper

Craig Redman

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I didn’t forget the Desktop Wallpaper Project this week, I just wanted to wait till today to release a special Thanksgiving edition wallpaper done by Mr. Craig Redman. I’m a big fan of Craig’s work, whether it’s the things he creates with Australia’s finest design outfit, Rinzen, or on his personal (auto-biographical?) project Darcel Disappoints, he’s always crafting up some creative goodness.

This weeks wallpaper features the always hysterical Darcel in a piece Craig calls ‘Thanksgiving Under Duress’. Darcel is rocking a Native American head dress while old-timey guns are pointed his way… what a way to celebrate the holiday! I love love love this wallpaper, and it looks REALLY awesome on my iPhone, just want to throw that out there. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, and I’ll be back to posting by Monday at the latest!

Well, it’s been a couple weeks since the HELLAWEEN mixtape mixed by Punchy, which you guys downloaded over 3,000 times, so I thought I’d treat you all to a fresh one. This time around is a mix by a young up-and-coming DJ from Australia by the name of James Kane, aka Teen Creep. James has been doing a lot of remixes lately, and DJ’s locally around Melbourne, sneaking into clubs and getting kids dancing.

There are also a couple James’ own remixes on there, so be sure to check those out in particular. As per usual the artwork was done by myself, based off of some photos that James had sent me. Enjoy!

Ghostpatrol

I’ve been keeping this idea to myself lately, but I swear it’s true. The Australians are going to destroy us with their art, and seeing the work of Ghostpatrol further solidifies this idea. Ghostpatrol is an Australian artist currently working in a studio in Melbourne called Mitten Fortress, which may possibly be one of the best names for a studio EVER. Ghosty started out stenciling walls but has since moved into painting which I’m enjoying a lot. Above is one of my favorite things I saw on his site, these sanded down pencils with paintings of children with large noggins. But his work goes all over the place, from plush dolls to giant murals so be sure to check out all of his amazing work!
