The Easy Rider Collection by Emil Kozak

Just in time for summer the awesome Emil Kozak has released a new set of t-shirts and accessories to jazz up your style. There are several new shirts, like Easy Rider and Acid Rain above, which come in some different colorways and some of his classic tees which also come in new colorways. He also has some rather adorable and amazing jewelry which are shaped like clouds and a tiny whale. I could probably just wear Emil’s work all the time and be happy as a clam.

Vacation by Beach Fossils

I came across the music of Beach Fossils, a one man band consisting of Dustin Payseur, which I’ve been listening to a lot lately. His music falls into that new surf, feedback slot that I really can’t describe very well. But it sounds really timeless, like something that might have been written 50 years ago. He seems to mainly be playing in New York, which is good if you live in New York, but he should totally be playing on the west coast so I can see him. There’s just something so dreamy and mellow about his music, especially his song Daydream, it’s been on repeat a lot for me.

Click here to visit his Myspace, you can hear another song by him and see where and when he’s playing.

Can You Imagine Print by Trey Speegle

It’s supposed to be 88ยบ in Los Angeles today, so I’m headed out to the beach for the day. But I thought I’d post this great little print called Can You Imagine which was created by Trey Speegle. He recreated this vintage paint-by-numbers by “enlarging it, silkscreening it on canvas, mixing a fresh palette of 60 colors, blocking out the text and painting in everything but.” And for $20 you can get yourself an 8 x 10″, not bad, right?

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Ana Benaroya

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Ana Benaroya

Ana Benaroya

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of wallpapers for the last two weeks. I still have a ton of wallpapers to give away, in fact I’m going to have an ultra-crazy project coming up hopefully, so keep your eyes peeled for that. This weeks DWP artist is the lovely Ana Benaroya, a Baltimore artist who’s work is totally cheeky and fun. She has this really great European kind of style to her line work, and her color choices are always really loud but totally work. If you haven’t seen her work before you should definitely check it out.

I figured today was a good day to post her wallpaper because of how hot it is here in Los Angeles, so lots of buff dudes in speedos seem fitting. I laughed pretty hard when I saw this, and my favorite parts are the guy with the eyes and lips on his ass, and the pink guy with his long ponytail. So awesome.

I also just wanted to point out that I didn’t create a 1024 x768 or a 1280 x 1024 because I didn’t want to crop into her work. You can still download these other sizes though and your computer will figure it out.

New eboy Los Angeles Poster

After spending most of this afternoon on the beach I figured this was a good thing to post about today. eboy earlier this week released a brand new poster celebrating the awesome craziness that is Los Angeles, and I’ll definitely admit they did a damn good job. They got the Hollywood sign, they got the Arby’s (called Hats in the picture) which is on Sunset, the Norms which could either be on La Cienega or in Santa Monica, the In-N-Out on Sunset, Paul Frank and Kid Robot on Melrose, fiberglass Eames chairs with Eiffel bases, the zombies on Rodeo Dr., the cars basically parked on the 110 near downtown, and all the sluts out on the beach, and a ton more shit. You can even spot Britney and her dog getting paparrazi’ed!

My roommate Garrett and I were a little bummed that there were no tar pits and dino bones, but alas they couldn’t fit everything in. What’s really cool is that the poster measures 46.8″ wide by 33.1″ high, and it’s only 16 Euros ($25)! That’s so cheap for such a giant, awesome poster! I’m tempted to get one of these for the new apartment but I can’t commit such a large piece of wall real estate yet!
