Daybreakers

I love me a good vampire movie (see: Let The Right One In) and this new one called Daybreakers may just be enough to wash the bad Twilight taste out of everyone’s mouths. The film is set place in 2019, and a plague has turned most of the world into vampires. But the world is starting to run out of human blood, and soon the vampires will start turning into these beastly, psychotic versions of themselves. Enter Ethan Hawke who is a researcher looking to save the human race, and in turn, save the vampire race.

The whole thing is obviously a bit cheesy, but the directing looks sharp and the effects look extremely believable. This is a movie that could be totally cheeseball, but from the looks of it I have a lot of hope that it’ll be pretty good. Plus Willem Dafoe is in, so that’s rad.

Jamie Chung

Some days I want to be a photographer so badly. It seems like it would be such a great job to have, trying to create capture just the right moment or tell a story with a single image.

People like Jamie Chung are exactly like that, who have an immense creative vision that they convey through photography. Jamie graduated from Parsons in 2007 and since then he’s obviously been keeping busy. He’s represented by one of the best photo agencies in the States and has two portfolios of really amazing work online, as well seven other projects.

Noah Butkus

Noah Butkus

It’s really hard to pinpoint Noah Butkus’ work, and what the hell is going on. It reminds me a lot of growing up, like my life between the ages of birth and 18. Coloring and comic books, seventies stoner art. It’s kind of naive like Neckface, sort of calculated like Geoff McFetridge, but has sort of a delicate, intricacy like Moebius.

Hahahahaha… that was so pretentious sounding. This dude makes the raddest/creepiest art, with lots of ghosty looking guys with bloody swords and fucked up dead things. Tight.
