Kitsune Noir + Poketo Present The SPACETIME Collection

Today I’m extremely happy to announce a brand new project from Kitsune Noir and Poketo called SPACETIME, a collection of wall decals, wallets and t-shirts from artists Cody Hudson, Mike Perry, Damien Correll and Andy Miller. Almost 6 months ago to the day Poketo asked me if I’d be interested in curating a line of products with them, and being such a huge fan of their previous work, I of course said yes!

So I set to work trying to come up with a theme, something that would be open enough to let the artists work freely but still have some sort of constraints to work in. I decided on SPACETIME simply because I though it was a cool phrase, and I thought that having artists create around the concepts of space and time could be interesting.

From there I chose a ton of my favorite artists, then narrowed it down with Ted and Angie from Poketo to our favorite four: Cody Hudson, Mike Perry, Damien Correll and Andy Miller. If you’re a regular reader, you know I post about these guys a lot, and that’s because I’ve been a fan of their respective works for a long time, so getting to work with them on this was pretty awesome.

We have three products from each artist available. First there’s a wall cling, which is actually a 4 pack, and you get a set of clings or stickers from each artist. As you can see from the photos above, it gives you quite a bit of flexibility to create your own little galaxy. Next up is a wallet which comes with custom designs on each side. Last is a t-shirt with yet another different graphic on it, and all of them look really great.

You can click here to visit the SPACETIME shop and pick up your own goodies.

I hope you enjoy what we’ve created. This is only the start of interesting and fun products from Kitsune Noir, so be ready!

Yikes! It’s already early Friday night here on the west coast but as promised, here’s this weeks Mixcast. There’s really no theme this week, just a bunch of great songs. There’s kind of this chilled vibe going through everything, and strong drums are kind of another thing, so maybe you’ll see those elements.

There’s also quite a few new songs, in fact I think everything is really recent except for one song, so if you’re looking for new music, check this one out. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you guys liked!

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
The Sea Is A Good Place To Think About The Future by Los Campesinos
Leap Year by Port O’Brien
Feel It All Around by Washed Out
Crystalised by XX
Beach Point Pleasant by Ducktails
Hailey by The Wooden Birds
Watch The Waves by Taken By Trees
Island, IS by Volcano Choir
Love by Paul Simon
Bay of Pigs by Destroyer

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Mickey Duzyj

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Mickey Duzyj

Mickey Duzyj

Hey everyone! This week’s wallpaper is by one of my favorite artists out there, Mickey Duzyj. Working in Brooklyn, Mickey has this really clean and simple style but has a way of using colors that really make his work pop and come to life.

For his wallpaper he sent me this classic image of his. Snarling greyhounds ripping down a race track, vying to win the race. There’s something so tense and amazing about this piece that totally grabs me. I love the look on the dogs faces, they look so damn intense! Enjoy these and be sure to check back next week.

I’ll Carry You On | A Kitsune Noir Mixtape

Well we’re definitely in the throes of summer here in the northern hemisphere, so I thought another mixtape may get everyone excited and the hot weather off their minds. This is kind of the first part of a summer mixtape called I’ll Carry You On, while the second part will be released in about a month or so. This mix has been kicking around for a little bit now, it was originally inspired by a side project of mine that I felt needed some music.

It doesn’t really have a theme, but I feel like it flows together rather well. The songs are new and old, not quite as up to date as the other summer mix is, but this should still make your head bounce. I’d also like to suggest that you listen to this one with headphones on. There are lots of rich sounds in these songs, and even some things I’ve added in myself here and there. I hope you like it and be ready for another mix to drop on August 21st, which is my birthday, so it’s like a birthday present to all of you for being such awesome readers.

I also have a new project that I think I’ll be releasing on Friday that’s related to the mixtapes but an entirely new endeavor altogether. Keep your eyes peeled!

Here’s the track listing:

01 Eulogy by Patrick Wolf
02 Cello Song by The Books & José González
03 Knife by Atlas Sound
04 Island by Black Dice
05 Head Spins by High Places
06 Only Pieces by Here We Go Magic
07 Boneless (Panda Bear Remix) by Notwist
08 Track 14 by Karen O
09 The Ephemeral Bluebell by Bibio
10 Blue Imelda by Final Fantasy
11 Down From Above by Vetiver
12 Storm The Gates by P:ano

The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Will Hibberd

Name: Will Hibberd
Degree/College: Graphic Design and Production BA (hons) Plymouth College of Art

About Your Wallpaper:
I found it hard having a free reign over the design of this wallpaper, I am usually either doing doodle like illustrations for fun or designing for specific needs, but this opportunity gave me some freedom. I knew I would like the freedom but it was hard to stick with one idea. also I didn’t want to doodle for once! This wallpaper is a mixture of what i find appealing at the moment. Circles (which are not perfectly round) Bitmap imagining especially the cross type, and courier new italic, as well as purple, yellow and blue.
